Go ahead an fabreeze your clothes but I don’t have any luck with those sprays working to get rid of odors in the air.
Go get some of those FRIDGE IT activated carbon odor absorbers. – little purple cube – don’t waste money on the imitations. Totally unscented so it actually eliminates odor rather than covering up with some nasty fragrance and totally safe to use.
I’ve used these for spilled something in my purse, musty closets, cabinets, worst smells in fridge and ice in freezer. Also, took care of spoiled fish in car which was really bad. Also have two cats and use these on litter box – they are FANTASTIC No spills or chemicals to worry about. You can buy these in kitchen gadget stores or just go direct which is what I do – contact them at cust...@innofresh.com and ask for order form. You get it right away.
Definitely the way to go. try it.
Good luck
Febreeze
use febreeze!
i suggest you pour bleach in a cup and leave it in the closet for a few days.
vinegar in a bowl will remove any smell.
Important to never place clothes which are sweaty back into a closet.
My concern is the source(s) of the smell.
If you think it is mold..clean the walls with a bleach solution (using care not to get on clothes)..or Microban if you can.
Use plastic tablecloths to cover clothes for spills..and move aside..do one section at a time..
Placing clothes in sunlight for an hour will refresh them… (yeah I know it is your whole closet).
Washing some the clothing in warm water with Arm & Hammer liquid detergent (with baking soda), and one cup of vinegar, will help eliminate any odors.
You can get some wrinkle release $1.50 at the dollar store… and spray any clothes that you can handle if they are damaged…and you can dilute this with water 50%.
pour baking soda on carpet…if there is some..then vacuum a couple hours/day later.
Closets should have an A/C vent…if not..then leave the doors open when you can.
I make up packets for my shoes..of zeolyte in tyvek bags (free from USPS..recycled)..cut or roll to fit. The zeolyte (a pool chemical like sand) absorbs moisture and odors right through the tyvek bag. before this I made up smelly rice bags for my shoes or used air freshener cards, or used the air refresher tubs.
fedreez works the best
air fresheners–FeBreeze!
its all depends, what is the smell or where is it coming from?
is there a chance a rodent had died? if so you have to get pest control.
or if its not that than clean out the closet and wash your clothes then clean the walls and the floors
